This rifle was made in 1908 according to Cody Museum letter listing all special features on this rifle including Helm butt, Schuetzen cheekpiece, spur lever, palm rest, Schuetzen set trigger, and checkered pistol grip stock. Other features are correct including no. 3 30" octagon barrel, mid range vernier sight, and windgauge front. Winchester information is on top flat which is not cut for rear sight. Winchester proofs are at rear and on top of blued action. Buttstock is of XXX crotch figured American walnut. CONDITION: Excellent, original. Barrel has over 95% original blue with sharp edge wear. Action has about the same with some small areas of flaking at top. Stocks retain nearly all of their french polish finish with some light marks, checkering very lightly worn. Blue of buttplate considerably flaked with only traces remaining. Bore is excellent. Triggers work. A truly fine Winchester Schuetzen rifle that letters perfectly. MGM 175
