Offered is a spectacular pre-1930 Springfield National Match rifle with all proper attributes to include polished rail, etched matching serial number on bolt, nickel steel stamped bolt, star gauged barrel that is dated 1129 and "SA" marked with bomb. Type C walnut stock with double bolt reinforcement, no finger groove and DAL inspector stamp on left side for Daniel A. Leary who began inspecting Springfields from World War I into the 1930's. Has the coarse checkered national match buttplate with trapdoor, wrist has block letter P inspector stamp. Frame, trigger guard, and floorplate retain approximately 90% original arsenal matte blue finish. Rear sight is graduated to 2700 yards and has the flat rear sight adjustment knobs, knurled without grooves. TE reading: 4.5. ME reading: 0. Comes with a front sight cover, a PJ O'Hare rear sight cover, and an original leather sling. An outstanding example of an early Springfield National Match rifle. CORRECTION: This National Match rifle was sold to Frank B. Perry of Providence, Rhode Island on September 20th, 1930. Frank B. Perry & Sons were early manufacturers of crystal radio sets in the 1920's and is a well-known name to radio collectors. Includes Springfield research letter.
