Wonderful uncleaned 1866 rifle with 24 inch octagon barrel and two piece American walnut stocks. Early 67A globe front sight with corresponding 36B mid-range graduated peep sight with 4 inch staff. rear sight seat has a period spirit level installed. Lower tang is marked with assembly number 3335. Same number is found on butt stock in upper tang mortise and on butt plate at toe. Manufacture 1883. CONDITION. Very fine with over 50% thinning blue finish remaining on barrel. Magazine has attained a plum brown patina. gun meta brass frame is a mottled mustard color as is butt plate. Two piece American walnut stocks are very good and full sized. Stocks have a number of period bruises and small scratches. Bore is vey good with minor frosting and strong rifling.
