Oil on canvas depicting a favorite of Walter O'Connor's Robert Rogers, posed with ranger's uniform and musket standing in front of an Indian chief against a mountainous background. Painted in the 18th century American style, signed in lower left hand corner "G A Burge." Framed in a period wood frame painting itself measures 16" W by 20" H, with frame measures 21-1/2 x 25-3/4". Excellent condition, frame showing some wear from age. This nicely done portrait hung in Walter's bedroom for many years. From the Walter O'Connor collection.
