Lot contains: Four documents, three related to the Commissioners for Indian Affairs for the Province of Pennsylvania: A) Commissioners to Richard Wistar, partially-printed ADS, 2 pp., quarto, receipt "No. 12" to the latter for the loan of 200 pounds, dated [Philadelphia], 14 May 1759, signed and sealed by nine commissioners, including Thomas Willing, William West and Joseph Richardson, with acknowledgements of repayment recorded on the recto, signed by Wistar, his brother Caspar Wistar, and Sally Wistar during 1762 and 1763; B) Commissioners to Amos Strettel, partially-printed ADS, 2 pp., similar receipt but "No. 46" for 70 pounds, dated 28 January 1760, with payment receipts on recto signed by lender during 1762 and 1763; C) Commissioners [to 4 teamsters], [Philadelphia], dated 18 April-28 May 1763, ADS, 2 pp. quarto, being a sheet removed from a bound receipt book containing four receipts for goods received and signed for by teamsters for delivery to agents John Carson at Paxton (3) and Josiah Davenport at Fort Pitt (1), including salt, pitch, rice, matchcoats, oakum, gunpowder, steel, tin cups and kettles; and D) Edward Shippen, "Goods remaining in Mr. Thomas Lawrence Vendue Master's hands belonging 1/3 to Storke & Champion & 2/3ds to Shippen & Lawrence...May the 9th 1753", ADS, 1 p., oblong quarto, listing of various trade goods received and in stock, including cloth, ribbon, vermillion, kettles, jews harps, knives, wampum and tobacco.
