Boldly patterned Damascus barrels are engraved "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on game rib without dolls head extension. Dark case hardened top lever action is fitted with bar locks having deeply chamfered serpentine rebounding hammers. Action is engraved with sprays of scroll within geometric and line borders. Lockplates have sprays of scroll. Both locks are engraved "Colt's Pt. F. A. Mfg. Co.". Top lever and trigger plate are blued, as is trigger guard which has scroll on bow. Nicely stump figured dense American walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over steel buttplate. Point pattern checkering wraps over top of grip with triangular flourish along with vacant silver oval on toe line. Matching splinter forend with ebony inlet schnabeled tip has modified Deeley release. CONDITION: Very fine to excellent with some cleaning. Barrels retain nearly all of their original Damascus finish with some staining. Action and locks retain over 90% original case color, right lock with considerable cleaning and some brown spots. Top lever retains nearly all of its blue. Trigger plate and trigger guard re-blued with evidence of considerable cleaning at grip. Stocks retain nearly all of their original French polish finish with numerous scratches and rubs. Checkering is lightly worn and dark. Bores are excellent, shiny, with some scattered light dents. Action is tight. Locks are fine. MGM32.
