(1985) The Kinmount was the lowest boxlock carrying the Scott name after Holland & Holland bought the company, with a retail price at the time of $11,000.00. This gun has 28" dovetailed barrels with narrow, swamped game rib. Tops of barrels are engraved "W. & C SCOTT. GUNMAKERS" and "BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND". Barrel flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Case hardened boxlock action features automatic safety and double triggers, and is engraved with scroll borders. "W. & C Scott" is on each side. Blued top lever, floorplate, and trigger guard are engraved with sprays of scroll. Floorplate is engraved "THE" "KINMOUNT". Serial number is on trigger guard tang. Well streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15 - 1/4" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip, and a silver oval on toe line is engraved "RF". Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Gun is housed in its original tan canvas case with tan leather trim lined in burgundy cloth. W & C Scott label is in lid. Case contains Scott marked snap caps, square oil bottle, along with cleaning equipment. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of considerable field use but very little firing, with some silvering on metal finishes at normal wear points, and rate probably about 95%. Stock has light scratches overall from walking through brush, checkering lightly worn. Action is still very tight. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine with some rubs. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth is very fine. MGM 162
