This is a shooters OR a collectors dream. E.R. Maples Company remanufactured/assembled a number of U.S. military weapons to the highest possible standards of fit and finish. Often even superior to that of original factory work these guns are especially attractive. This Browning M2 heavy barreled machine gun is no exception. Marked on right sideplate, “SER. NO.” (serial number) “MACHINE GUN CAL .50, M2” ”MANUFACTURED BY” “E. R. MAPLES CO.“ “NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE” “U.S.A.” Beautiful original brown composite grips. Barrel on gun include carrying handle. Midwest Industries scope mount on left side of receiver. M3 v tripod manufactured by FTS Corporation with high quality reciprocating head with integral ammo box holder on left side. Also included are 3 spare barrels, two canvas barrel carriers and a bucket and bag containing approximately 200 metal links. Look for a separate lot in this auction for .50 Cal ammunition lot. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original smooth gray refinish upon remanufacture with only the slightest of handling marks. Tripod is likewise near excellent with dull black enamel paint finish on lower assembly with a satin black painted finish on head. Bores of all barrels extremely fine to near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-automatic only machine gun. An absolutely stunning display piece in this condition which also no doubt would make a very comfortable shooting gun at the range. Just a fantastic ensemble showing very little use.
