(1977) 26" Chopper lump barrels with slightly raised matted concave game ribs are gold inlaid "1" or "2" at breech ends of ribs. These number also appear on top levers and forend irons, denoting a true pair. Barrel flats are stamped with 1977 Ferlach nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Coin finished sidelock actions are stocked to the fences and feature automatic safeties (S inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and gold plated double triggers (fronts articulated). Actions and lockplates are near fully engraved with well cut open shaded scroll. Fences are relief carved with roses. Blued top levers are gold inlaid "Lud. Borovnik Ferlach" around pivots. Blued trigger guards are also scroll engraved. Nicely matched dark streaked and marbled flesh-toned European walnut straight grip buttstocks measure 14 - 7/8" over checkered horn buttplates. Well cut point pattern checkering continues under grips. Matching long splinter ejector forends with Deeley releases have engine turned irons. Guns are housed in tan leather two gun case with brass plated corners, lined in burgundy velvet. Bottom compartment is french fitted for actions and barrels.CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of casual field use. Barrels retain over 95% original blue thinning on sides, silvering on sharp edges. Coin finish of action is still bright. Thumbpieces and trigger guards have just a trace of silvering. There are quite a few light dents and marks in original stock finish. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. Case has a number of scrapes and marks in leather. Interior lightly soiled and with compressions. MGM 227
