The chastity belt is controversial and few, if any, are believed to be from the Medieval period; however, many were made in the 19th century. This example of hand hammered steel is elaborately pierced with a heart, fearsome teeth to guard a lady's chastity and with numerous holes for attaching cloth in order to render it wearable. CONDITION: Displays an aged and corroded surface denoting antiquity. A most interesting ancillary piece for the collector of Medieval or Renaissance armor.
