1980's production with 13" carbon steel blade with brass parry insert on spine. Left side of blade is trademarked with "RANDALL MADE ORLANDO FLA". Lugged double brass guard with scalloped collar and scalloped brass buttcap. Smooth rosewood handle with brass name plate. The original Bowie of the 1830's period supposedly had a 3/8" blade thickness and weighed more than 2 pounds. This Model 12 "RAYMOND THORP" Bowie is named after the noted author of "THE BOWIE BOOK". This is Bo Randalls interpretation of the original Bowie. The knife is housed in its original roughback Randall scabbard with plain nickel snap and grey sharpening stone. CONDITION: Very fine with several very minor blade scratches that appear to be from being inserted and removed from the scabbard. The handle and guard are very fine but slightly tarnished from age. The scabbard is equally fine with no distress and the stone remains pristine. An impressive knife made at a high point of quality from Randall knives. TDW
