This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/7/2019
Lot consists of: Gun (A) New Model Army and Navy revolver manufactured in 1906. Features six shot fluted cylinder, blue finish with black composite Colt rosette grips. CONDITION: Revolver retains approximately 90% of a dull reapplied blue finish. Grips are near mint. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Has a near mint bore. Gun (B) Colt U.S. Navy 1895 double action revolver manufactured in 1895. This is part of the first Colt swing-out cylinder series and was from the series purchased by the United States Navy. The butt is stamped "USN" with an anchor, 38EA, trident, and NO5799. Inspector stamped "NCT" and the serial number. NCT was the inspector stamp for Nathan C. Twining, who was an inspector for the Colt 1889 revolver series to include the Colt 1895 Navy Revolver. A mere 2,382 of these revolvers were ordered in 1895 by the United States Navy with an additional 518 ordered in 1896, making it an extremely rare and desirable Navy weapon. Matching serial number on the cylinder and the yoke. CONDITION: Unfortunately, the gun was entirely refinished in a Colt quality high polish blue, but every single marking on the gun is gone with the exception of the butt. Grips are black checkered gutta percha with Colt in the oval. Indexes correctly. Fine bore.
