Manufactured 1943 and comes with certificate from CMP that it was sold as a service grade rifle in June 2000. Rifle appears to be all original and correct with "SA 2-43" dated barrel, un-modified Springfield Armory op-rod with correct drawing number, proper late op-rod catch, proper 12SA bolt with proper drawing number, proper locking bar rear sight, proper milled barrel band with solid pin, and proper McFarlane stock cartouche with circle "P" proof inspection at pistol grip. CONDITION: Very good overall and a fine original World War II M1 Garand rifle. The exterior parkerized finish is very good with typical high point wear with over 90% remaining. TE reading: 3.5. ME reading: 5. The bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Stocks have been lightly cleaned but have very good visible cartouches and proofs. The mechanics operate properly.
