Lot consists of: Gun (A) Enfield No. 1 Mk III with import stamps. Gun has been rebuilt. Rear band stamped SMLE III and is dated 1916 Enfield with "GR" Crown. Rear stock is from one gun, balance of wood from another. Brass buttplate. CONDITION: Silver blue patina on frame. Wood is very wood with usual dings. Good action and strong rifled bore. Gun (B) World War II rebuild U.S. Springfield Mk I 1903. Barrel is stamped "SA" with Ordnance Bomb and is dated 12-18. Replaced World War II era 2700 yard rear sight. Right side of frame has had a base added for a receiver sight that is not factory. All milled parts. Two bolt finger groove stock, stamped on left side "RA'P" indicating a Raritan Arsenal rebuild, check, and test marks used from 1920-1955. Has inventory 987 stamped at heel of stock. Same number stenciled on right side of stock. Being a Mk I, it has the factory cutout on left side of frame. CONDITION: Frame retains majority of the arsenal reapplied matte black finish. Barrel has the later applied parkerized finish. Trigger guard and floor plate retain a majority of their World War II era parkerized matte finish. TE reading: <3. ME reading: <1, which is a good indicator for the barrel was not replaced. Included in this lot are two broken 1903 slings that could be pieced together to form one good sling and a US Springfield 1918 dated bayonet with later metal US sheath and hanger.
