This is an 1866 dated Model 2nd Allin Conversion. The walnut stock is stamped with both the "ESA" and "SWP" inspector stamps in oval for Allin and Porter. There is a small number "4" on left side of barrel, small eagle head left side of rear frame, an "O" inspector stamp on wrist below guard and an "L" just below that. Metal is finished in the white with exception of case color lock and hammer and the blackened block and rear sight. CONDITION: As new unused condition inside and out. Nice colors on hammer and lock that is stamped 1864 with eagle and "US Springfield". Block is stamped 1866 with eagle head. Stock is near mint with raised grain and just a couple of handling marks. Metal is flawless and bright. Mirror bore. The best example one could hope to find. Comes with an original leather brass hook sling with two keepers, maker stamped "------ & North"; still soft with a bit of checking.
