Manufactured early 1875. This carbine falls right between numbers 33000 and 43700 at 37341. It has all early features such as the thick long wrist, 1873 pinned rear sight, US carbine buttplate. "MODEL" 1873 stamped bolt. "ESA" Erskin Allen stamp in oval on left side (visible but light). Script "P" on wrist. Stock has no trapdoor and wood not drilled for such. Standard features include saddle ring and bar, post front sight, eagle 1873 sideplate, smooth trigger, and walnut stock. CONDITION: Metal is a clean soft patina with sharp legends. Action is fine. Bore shows strong lands and grooves with some minor abrasion. Stock is excellent with some minor handling marks. A clean Custer 7th range carbine. Comes with complete parts checklist.
