This fine 1879 Saddle Ring Carbine has a sharp "SWP 1882" cartouche on left side for Sam Porter with proof "P" on wrist. This carbine still has the 1873 rear sight stamped "C" with screws, short fat wrist, smooth trigger, 1873 dated block, non-dated eagle sideplate, trapdoor butt, post front sight, and saddle ring and bar. CONDITION: Block has some really strong color present. Balance of metal still has 90% blue with some soft drifting patina and razor sharp legends. Stock is near mint with a few very minor handling marks. Bore is mirror bright with sharp lands and grooves. A scarce high condition 1879 carbine.
