Offered is an extremely clean, all original Krag Model 1896 saddle ring carbine. Features include saddle ring and bar, carbine "C" stamped rear sight, single barrel band, protective sight ears, walnut one piece stock. Stock has a "JSA" cartouche that is dated either 1896 or 1898. Fine cursive proof "P" on wrist. CONDITION: The barrel retains approximately 95% of the original factory blue starting to thin a bit. Colors on frame have darkened to smooth, dark grey patina. Legends are sharp. Stock is near mint with just a few handling marks. Action is smooth as silk. Bore is sharp. Overall, a fine all original 1896 Krag carbine.
