Stevens 44-1/2 action is case colored and lightly scroll engraved. Fitted with a No. 4 loop lever. Lever appears to be slightly bent and does not fit closely to the lower tang, which should be a simple repair. Single trigger. Buttstock of plain American walnut with pistol grip, cheekpiece on left side, nicely checkered. Steel buttplate was originally case colored but no colors remain. Stevens forearm is of the two screw style and checkered. Barrel is half octagon, No. 3 weight, and is numbered to the action. CONDITION: Case coloring on action still has bright amounts remaining. Buttstock shows just minor scratches, dings, etc. Buttplate is devoid of case colors. Forearm has some minor scratches and dents from handling. Over 90% of the original blue remains. Good action, excellent bore. TR
