The Short Land Pattern was one of the primary longarms used by British troops during the American Revolution. This example has a lock inscribed "TOWER" vertically at the tail and has an engraved crown over "GR" in the center. Features standard brass Second Model furniture and walnut stock. Complete with replaced iron ramrod and "GILL" marked triangular socket bayonet. CONDITION: Fair to poor, barrel and iron components have been heavily cleaned. Markings on barrel have been cleaned away and barrel now retains a bright surface with some scattered spotting. Lock has some corrosion and appears to be in original flintlock configuration. Brass has been heavily polished. Stock has the last 8" replaced as well as end cap. Bayonet has been cleaned and retains a pitted grey surface. A good representative example of an important Revolutionary War musket.
