Made in 1926 and originally starting life as a Parker PHE 10 gauge with 32" Parker Steel barrels, this gun has been expertly upgraded, most likely by Lawrence Delgrego and Robert Runge. The matted rib is now marked "ACME" Steel and has a white front bead. Made on a #3 frame with a 5lb 3oz unstruck barrel weight, the barrel flats have also been stamped with a "5" during the upgrade. Double checkered triggers, auto-ejectors, and non-auto safety. The custom Delgrego made flame grained capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in a very nice BHE grade pattern with checkered sidepanels and fluer-de-lis behind action. Border engraved gold oval near toe, and the butt terminates in a beautifully scroll engraved and blued skeleton buttplate. The splinter forend is near fully checkered with engraved Deeley release and engraved steel tip. The action is beautifully engraved in Runge style upgrade of a BHE pattern with flying ducks on right, single goose on left, and upland scene of two setters on trigger plate, all surrounded by well executed Runge type scroll engraving and marked "Parker Bros." on sides. CONDITION: Extremely fine as custom finished. Barrels retain nearly all of their custom blued finish. Stocks retain nearly all of their custom finish with only minor handling marks and one light surface scratch on left side of butt in the finish which would remedy easily. The action retains about all of its Delgrego style cyanide case colors. Bores are brilliant and shiny, mechanics are crisp. This is an gorgeous gun and finding a true steel barreled 10 gauge BHE would be virtually impossible.
