This lovely Army was manufactured in 1918. Features blued finish, second type rear sight with beveled edges and U notch, checkered wide spur hammer, smooth backstrap with ring, long smooth trigger, lanyard ring, two tone tempered lanyard loop magazine, diamond checkered walnut grips. Right side of slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Left side of slide has last patent date of August 19th, 1913 with Colt address and pony in center. Left side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and has lightly stamped eagle head proof with "S11". Barrel is stamped with the proper perpendicular "HP" stamp. CONDITION: Front strap and mainspring housing are blue-brown sharp patina. Balance of frame and slide retain approximately 90% original factory blue with high edge wear and razor sharp stampings. Diamond checkered walnut grips are excellent with some usual handling marks. Fine bore and action. Far above average original World War I Colt.
