(1954) 26" shoe lump barrels with slightly raised matted rib are marked with makers name, address, and steel information along with "MADE IN GERMANY" on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with East German nitro proofs for 20 gauge, 2 - 3/4" chambers, and "FULL CHOKE/ HALF CHOKE". Case hardened, scallop backed boxlock action features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, side pin cocking indicators, intercepting safety sears, and double triggers. Action is rolled with sprays of "engraving" within line borders. "J. P. SAUER & SOHN" is in arched band on each side. Trigger plate is marked with caveman logo. Relatively plain European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/2" over composition buttplate with Sauer SS logo. Stock features nicely shaped right hand cheekpiece and well cut point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Deeley release. Gun is fitted with cloth backed brown leather carrying sling in narrow sling loops. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrels retain nearly all of their original black. Action has about 70% case color. Stocks have nearly all their original oil finish. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. MGM198.
