These cased pistols feature octagonal multi-groove rifled barrels with Damascus patterns, Belgian proofs on undersides of barrels. and both have hooked patent breeches. Tangs inlaid with gold "1" and "2". Percussion lockplates and hammers engraved with shaded scroll patterns, French target pistol style hardware engraved en suite. Varnished stocks of French form have fluted grips and relief foliate designs carved on forends. Pistols are complete with their original mahogany case with brass furniture, including corner protectors. Top of case features plaque with monogram "CA" and folding handle. Green felt-lined French fitted interior with one lidded compartment. Complete with key, mallet, nipple wrench, oiler, mold, mainspring clamp, percussion cap reservoir, cleaning rod, and brass ramrod. CONDITION: Good to very good, pistols show little use and actions are strong and function well. All metal retains an even grey patina. Stocks with some light storage marks. Case very good with some age cracks and losses to finish due to moisture. Interior shows some wear and minor staining. Accessories appear to be original to set and are good to very good. A nice set of Continental target pistols.
