The 3-1/2" threaded octagonal barrel, boldly stamped on right flat "COLL A. LE. MAT BRTE". With the extension, the barrel measures 5-1/2" with brass pin foresights. Classic LeMat nine shot cylinder with shotgun barrel underneath. LeMat hammer with pivoting striker for percussion shotgun barrel. Frame with engraved hammer screw, unadorned, as is iron trigger guard. Steel buttcap with lanyard loop. Checkered walnut grips of typical LeMat style. Overall 11-3/4". CONDITION: Barrel and extension with remains of period reblue. Cylinder retains much of period reblue. Frame mostly very crisp, grey metal with some original remnants of color case hardening. Buttcap with traces of original color case hardening. Grips generally good with some wear to checkering. Barrel itself is rifled, barrel extension is smoothbore. Shotgun barrel rates good plus. Rifle barrel appears to be 9mm. This is an extremely rare revolver and particularly attractive, as it has the same form as the Confederate associated Baby LeMats.
