Barrel of excellent quality. The East India Company lock of characteristic form and quality with engraved "Laughing Lion". Steel trigger guard of English type with pineapple finial. The circassian walnut fullstock in the Ottoman style with no provision for ramrod, as they used a sneath with coarse bone inlay and brass rondels. The brass buttcap of European style with lanyard loop. 18" overall. CONDITION: Barrel, though of excellent quality, is heavily worn but damascus pattern still visible. Lock is bright and would rate excellent with crisp action and all original small parts. The stock is worn and has a splice in the forend approximately 7", which appears to be a replacement, skillfully done. Good bore. Overall, a showy, attractive, and interesting Ottoman pistol.
