Factory letter states this was part of a 30 gun shipment sent on March 2nd, 1863 to Cooper & Pond of New York with blued finish and wood stocks. Matching numbers on frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder pin, barrel, and wedge. Double numbers on cylinder "6064 568". CONDITION: Barrel has sharp New York address. Retains approximately 40% original Colt blue. Cylinder is soft patina with a near 100% naval battle scene. Cylinder has original nipples. Safety pins are worn. Frame colors have darkened. Brass trigger guard and backstrap have traces of nickel plating. Sharp screwheads. Very good to excellent refinished grips. Strong rifling with light black powder abrasion. Indexes and locks up like new. Excellent example of a scarce 1861 Navy.
