Factory letter states this revolver was shipped in a shipment of 50 guns on September 20th, 1862 to J.P. Moores & Sons, New York as a six shot, 5", blued, .31 caliber with one piece wood grips. Gun remains in fine overall condition. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, base pin and loading lever. Wedge is No. 12320. New York barrel address. CONDITION: Gun remains in excellent, all original condition. Barrel retains approximately 40% of the original bright blue, balance simply flaked. Razor sharp edges and legends. Stagecoach scene cylinder is brown patina with excellent scene. All original nipples and partial original safety pins. Frame retains approximately 70% original case colors. 80% original nickel on straps. Colors mostly gone on loading lever. Grips are near mint with just light edge wear. Screws have traces of nitre blue but several are slightly marred. Fine bore. Indexes and locks up like new. It is extremely rare to find a factory lettered Civil War era shipped 1849 Pocket Model.
