Another beautiful condition Boys anti-tank rifle from an estate collection marked with “BSA” (Birmingham Small Arms) proof on top of receiver and bipod “R.B. MK I” (For Rifle Boys} on left side of receiver. Visible numbers matching. Original early British disk-type muzzle and bracket-feet bipod present. Includes one original five round magazine. The Boys Anti-Tank rifles were issued to British, Canadian, and US forces in the early years of World War II. They were effective against lightly armored vehicles, and punching through emplacement barriers. Highly accurate, they were effective at, “putting the round where I wanted”, according to one Veteran this cataloger knew. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original smooth dull blue finish with preservative grease, with bolt near excellent in the white with brown preservative grease. Mechanics are crisp. Bore and bolt in near excellent condition. Wood cheek rest near excellent with a couple light handling marks. The covering of the butt shoulder pad is starting to crack at the edges but remains serviceable. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A “DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE”. JWK 2019-10-185
