Made by Francotte for the American market this handsome gun with raised matted concave top rib with small brass front bead. Barrels marked on tops "A. Francotte Maker and Patentee / Abercrombie & Fitch / Made in Belgium". Full case hardened sidelock action with side clips is nicely scroll engraved as is the blued top lever and trigger guard. Made with single trigger, auto ejectors, and auto safety. Ball grip buttstock is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist with very nicely figured French walnut and terminates with a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern and has Anson type push button release. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrels retain about 95% of their original blued finish. Action retains about 80% original case color quite bold on sides, toned on bottom. Stocks are very good with handling marks and more pronounced on left side and there are three more significant impressions on left side but generally very good. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are gummed up with top lever being stiff.
