The 35" blade with one wide fuller and a single narrow fuller, indistinctly signed on spine Woolley & Company. Steel stirrup hilt with long langetes, fish skin grip. Original steel scabbard marked "Woolley & Co." with two carrying rings, original interior wood lining. CONDITION: Blade with minor pitting scattered throughout its length. A number of very minor chips in the edge. Stirrup hilt with moderate pitting throughout. Evidence of an old repair to pommel as there appears to be some brass brazing. Fish skin grip in fine condition, missing its wire wrap. Steel scabbard heavily rusted, pitted, and patinated throughout with numerous dents and some old brass repair on one side. A rare sword, well documented, and pictured on pages 283, 290, and 291 in Mr. Bezdek's "Swords and Makers of England and Scotland".
