This box, circa 1860 and with most of these ebony-handled instruments signed by Mathieu of Paris, contains a saw, tracheostomy three-piece set, a chain saw, six surgical knives, two-piece trephine set, tourniquet and miscellaneous instruments. Four instruments are missing. The box features a brass inlay and brass cornises. These instruments and box are in excellent condition and do not show any damage or rust.
