Circa 1790-1810, this pair of pistols have two-stage brass barrels separated by a relief wedding-band, integral tangs are brass. The unmarked lockplates are flat and have beveled edges, appear to be American. The brass furniture includes small escutcheons around each lock retaining screw, buttcaps, brass triggers, trigger guards with acorn finials and trumpeted ramrod ferrules. The plain stocks have relief beaver tails carved around the barrel tangs. CONDITION: Barrels retain a mellow mustard patina with some areas of dark patina. Locks have been polished and retain a light grey patina, original flintlock configuration. Brass mounts retain a mellowing patina. Stocks show some wear and have been cleaned. Some minor marks from use, small filled holes, and minor small age cracks. One with a small chip to forend near muzzle on right side. A very attractive pair of New England pistols. DMG
