The rifle has a full length octagonal smoothbore barrel, top flat marked "J. HENRY PHILA". Rear sight was moved 5" forward during period. Flat lockplate decorated with sprig of engraving at tail and featuring a roller frizzen. Brass furniture is unengraved. Full length partially figured maple stock showing Lehigh County, Pennsylvania form and influence. CONDITION: Barrel retains a spotted brown patina with good markings. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration and shows a grey patina with some scattered pitting, cock is a replacement. Brass retains a mellowing mustard patina. Stock very good with some scattered marks. A very nice militia rifle. DMG
