Lot consists of: (A+B+C) Group of three Japanese one-third KG Type 2 HEAT submunitions (bomblets). This submunition was developed from the Japanese shaped charge rifle grenade, which was itself widely believed to be a near-identical copy of the German Gewehr Panzergranate. These are typical examples of this submunition, each with minor variations of the fins in construction and materials. Two of the three have the arming cups/vanes intact, the third has a vane is damaged with one cup remaining. Each submunition has different markings on the body, with paint/markings in good/very good condition. (D) World War II Japanese submunition (bomblet), the 1/2 KG HE. Of the two types of most frequently seen submunitions this is the more difficult to find. The munition is in fine condition, with body fins and fuze all in great condition. The paint is heavily faded, but this example has the painted body band, which is frequently gone or overpainted. The fuze has no safety pin, but is a variation with a smooth body rather than the normally seen knurled body.
