Made with a side safety, this gun is the entry level boxlock made by Greener and has Damascus barrels with provisional proof marks on them and the Damascus top rib has makers name and is marked "Winners at all gun trials 1875-1884." The round knob pistol grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist with brass oval near toe and terminates in a checkered horn buttplate. The action is unengraved with the exception of the sides being engraved "W.W. Greener" and is case hardened. The trigger plate shows a high polish blued finish as does the trigger guard and the top lever. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern with triangular ebony tip and has an unengraved Deeley release. CONDITION: Very good. Action retains about half of its thinning original case color. Trigger plate, top lever, and trigger guard bow retain about 65% or what appears to be their original blue. Stocks are sound with nice checkering and retain most of their original finish with some finish added for preservation. Bores are good with some beginning roughness. Mechanics are fine. Action is slightly loose with forend on. A nice understated Greener! JSL
