This smaller version Eley Cartridge board is the perfect size for most gun rooms. Measuring 17 - 1/4" wide by 16 - 3/8" tall. This attractive early 1900s board would be a welcome addition to anyone's British or American shotgun collection. Constructed of English Oak marked with black letters along the top "ELEY" and along the bottom "CARTRIDGES". Mainly featuring Eley's line of shotshells, displaying 22 shotshells and 12 .22 caliber rimfire cartridges. The shotshells are marked with a variety of Eley's colorful proprietary names, such as: "GRAND PRIX", "PLUTO", "MARS", "JUNO", "ERIN-GO-BRAGH", "ECAR", "ROCKET", "NEPTUNE", "COMET", "ACHILLES", "ZENITH", "ACME", "AQUIOD", "FOURTEN", "VULCAN", "THOR", and "ELIOD". The background is a steel grey color with white lettering that reads: "ELEY BROTHERS, LIMITED, LONDON", along with the Eley trademark in red. Along the bottom of the board reads: "AND AT BIRMINGHAM, GLASGOW, EXETER, LIEGE (BELGIUM)". CONDITION: All original showing no signs of restoration. The cartridges show good color and are tight to the board, with the exception of one loose .22 cartridge. The English Oak frame is original showing a nice aged patina. A number of moderate dents are present along the outer edges of the oak frame. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Nathan Posner, former owner of the San Francisco Gun Exchange and most recently on display at the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum of Cody, Wyoming. -MKS-
