This stellar little 1830's single shot short rifle features a rifled octagon barrel. The percussion hammer features some light engraving. The barrel has a Damascus finish with a fancy rear barrel sight and simple blade. The trigger guard, forend tip, and buttplate are made of horn. The right side of the stock has a wooden patchbox. The wrist and forearm are hand checkered. The horn tipped wooden rod is held in place by two thimbles. There is a front sling swivel and rifle is equipped with set trigger that needs adjusting. Inside the patch box is a hand written piece of paper dated 1831 along with a nipple wrench. (B) Great pattern on barrel. Stock is excellent with no cracks or chips, just minor wear. The eight groove rifling is near mint. Action works fine with note to set trigger. Great little early carbine.
