Lot consists of: (A) A beautiful medium sized "showpiece" fighter, with its original double edge, "Ron Gaston" over "Woodruff, SC" signature etch and hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters. The tapered and contoured full tang is complemented by the dovetailed and mosaic pinned fiery white Mother of Pearl scales with red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: This knife presents as-new, with a small perimeter surface chip at the upper pin on the reverse side. (B) Another spectacular knife, this medium sized fighter presents its original double edge, "Ron Gaston" over "Woodruff, SC" signature etch, with a hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters. The flat spine, tapered full tang is enhanced by dovetailed and mosaic pinned fiery white Mother of Pearl scales with red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new, with several handling scratches on the reverse bolster. There is also some minor perimeter chipping along the upper pin on the reverse side. Ron Gaston of Woodruff, South Carolina was a knifemaker for close to 25 years when he passed away in 2006. A dairy farmer by trade, Mr. Gaston became an extremely prolific maker and was featured within many cutlery publications at the height of his career. A proud member of the Knifemakers' Guild, his knives are very well established and continue to be collected around the world.
