Lot consists of: (A) A vintage style skinner with crown stag handle features a heavily brushed finish blade, "Ruana Explorer" etch and no guard. This model was a production piece honoring Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery, and originally retailed for $450. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife is unused with very light handling marks and a few light blade spots. Ruana Knife Works of Bonner, Montana has been making their famous knives since 1938, in the same shop, by the same dedicated family of craftsmen. Founded by their patriarch Rudy Ruana, he first began making knives on the side to help his family out following the great depression. Mr. Ruana's work was successful enough that he went full time in 1952, and the rest, as they say, was history. (B) The impressive 38C bowie features a brass back/spine, a brushed finish with "Ruana" in script, a sculpted brass guard and pommel encompassing an elk antler handle. No sheath. CONDITION: Unused, mint with scattered surface spots.
