Four antique or vintage knives dating from the second half of the 19th century through the first half of the 20th century. (A) Ivory handled bowie knife of mortise-tang construction, with nickel silver guard and copper pins. Clip point blade with sharpened false edge, etched in small panel on reverse GFG. No sheath. CONDITION: Blade with evidence of sharpening and use, mellow colored handle with one small age crack. 6-1/2" blade, 11-1/2"overall. (B) Large foreign knife (perhaps a chamarro se'se from Guam) with forged bolster and wide clip point blade, hand forged and of full tang construction. Bone handle scales with nickel silver pommel. 11-1/4" blade, 16-3/4" overall. No sheath. CONDITION: Blade cleaned, showing scratches from finishing and use. (C) Double edged knife with dogbone shaped handle scales of bone, iron pins and guard, half-tang construction with gaps filled with foreign matter. Tooled leather sheath with silver tip and throat, looks to have been cut down from larger knife. CONDITION: Signs of use with some scratches and fine nicks in the edge; most of the material in between the scales has fallen out. 6-7/8" blade, 11-1/8" overall. (D) Knife with dogbone style handle and guard that appear to have been made from whales tooth, mortise tang construction with copper pins.
