Wilkinson table lamp has leaded glass shade with sprays of green leaves climbing the side of the shade from the irregular border created by ribbons of geometric scrolls. The ribbons are bordered on the top by rows of pastel yellow diamond shaped panels and the shoulder of the shade is decorated by four rows of geometric rectangles, which give way to long stylized leaf shaped panels descending from the aperture. Unsigned. The shade rests on a cast metal base with acanthus leaf decoration on the foot and stem, leading to the two-socket cluster. Unsigned. The lamp is complete with a cast metal acanthus leaf finial. A similar lamp and base are pictured in the book "Mosaic Shade, Volume II" by Paul Crist on page 267, bottom-center photo. Shade has several tight hairlines in the large leaf-shaped panels, as well as in some of the smaller panels. The base is in very good condition, with some minor wear and discoloration to patina. Rewired with contemporary plastic cord. CORRECTION: Title updated. Although similar to the Wilkinson lamp referenced above, there are subtle differences in the shade pattern that make us believe this lamp should be attributed to Gorham.
Item Dimensions: Shade: 16" Dia. Base: 19 - 1/2" T x 8" W.
