Stellar condition new in box US Maremont M60 machine gun in its classic configuration from a consignor who purchased it for a display piece and never fired it. Original box with packing material including silver foil paper and moisture absorbent paper barrel insert is included. The M60 machine gun was the staple for US forces during the Vietnam War and into the contemporary army era. Instantly recognizable by veterans and as seen in films, its steady rate of fire combined with the ability to quickly change barrels make it a very popular machine gun. Only external serial number is at left side of trunnion. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near mint. Feed tray near excellent. Inside of receiver shows only the slightest wear from charging the bolt and closing the top cover. Top cover has slight loss of finish on the lower lip right side, invisible when the top cover is closed. Composite furnishings near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. Bore near excellent shiny and bright. An investment grade specimen, and pretty much impossible to upgrade in condition. A wonderful item for the modern American military historian and enthusiast.
