This Roberts conversion used a standard 1855 Springfield rifled musket cut off the top of the lock at the Maynard tape primer. Dated 1858. "ROBERT'S PAT./ JUNE.11.1867" on the left side of the receiver. Iron mounted. Three band. Walnut stock with inspectors cartouche on the left side. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall. All markings are clear. Some original blue on the spring located on the left side of the receiver. Wood has dings and handling marks. Fine bore with strong rifling. The lock will not stay at full cock, but works well to half cock. GR
