The famous image entitled Success was painted by A.B. Frost and is first seen on the Winchester 1895 calendar and used again on the actual cartridge board circa 1897-1898 as well as on this print. This is the stone litho version of the true cartridge board. These were given to dealers across the country to advertise their product but due to the large size and fragile nature of these items, seldom did they survive in any condition having been stored for decades in hot attics and moldy basements. CONDITION: Exceptional. It was completely black lighted and there were no signs of any inpainting or paper repair, just the normal minor storage marks one would expect to find on a hundred plus old piece that was never protected under glass. The frame has been expertly restored. The prices on the cartridge boards have soared making these period litho prints an absolute bargain when they show up. It measures 40" tall and 57" long. It is ready for that gun room and needs only to be hung. A fantastic piece with bright original color and images. DB
