Serial number 321505, manufactured 1870, matching numbers on all major components, including wedge. 4" barrel, marked in single line " ADDRESS COL. SAML NEW-YORK US AMERICA". Blue with case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. Frame and cylinder marked "COLT PATENT". Trigger guard marked on left side "31 CAL". One piece varnished walnut grips. Blue with case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Housed in a walnut case with burgundy color partition fitted interior. Includes correct powder flask, bullet mold, combination nipple wrench, and percussion cap tin. Correct case key. CONDITION: Excellent plus overall with 95-98% bright high polish blue on barrel. Approximately 85-90% bright blue on cylinder with balance tuning a pleasing patina. Approximately 95+% bright original case color on frame, loading lever, and hammer. All original unmolested screws. One piece walnut grips are nearly new with most all original varnish remaining, one light scuff on right side. Bore is excellent with bright straight grove rifling. Approximately 50% original silver plating on trigger guard, backstrap a pleasing mustard color patina. Walnut case is fine with small crack on right from corner of lid. Interior shows moderate wear with one are of cloth missing at barrel rest. Overall an exceptional example of desirable 4" 1849 Pocket Model, would be most difficult to improve on. -MKS-
