(ca 1896) 30" barrels of attractive chain Damascus, are marked "HUNTER ARMS CO FULTON N.Y." on rear portion of slightly raised matted concave rib. Barrel flats are stamped with serial number and grade. Case hardened action features bushed firing pins and double triggers. Action is engraved with line and geometric borders, along with a few sprays of scroll. Lockplates also have sprays of scroll surrounding oval vignettes of game birds; pair of quail on left, and woodcock on right. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Nicely marbled and dense European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over ribbed composition buttplate. Closely spaced checkering of fancy pattern wraps over top of semi diamond grip. Matching splinter ejector forend with inset ebony tip has usual J-spring with secondary knurled button release in guitar shaped escutcheon. Just over 3000 of these shotguns were made in this gauge. Stocks refinished, retaining nearly all of that finish. Checkering nicely re-cut. Bores are very good, shiny with some scratches.
