Fine old muzzleloader with laminated barrels and concave top rib marked "P.T. WATSON 97 CLAYTON STREET NEWCASTLE ON TYNE" and with small steel front bead. Replacement ramrod. Action is nicely scroll and game scene engraved on locks and hammers with nice scroll work. Action appears to have been blued as it is dark in color. Full length on piece stock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, wedge fastener and engraved steel tip on forearm. Beautiful heel and toe plates and checkered butt. Long tang trigger guard is lightly scroll engraved with dog on bow. Housed in a modern full length green canvas case with green felt interior. CONDITION: Very good as restored. Barrels retain most of their restored brown. Action has been blued, long ago. Stocks appear excellent as restored and there is an incipient crack behind the right lock. Bores with some pitting. Case is excellent.
