Early Mauser action with South Gate, CA address. 24 inch barrel. Barrel marked "WEATHERBY 300 MAGNUM". Serial 8636. Blond walnut stock with ebony tip, pistol grip cap, skipline checkering and classic inlaid "Weatherby Diamond" on both sides of stock. Recoil pad marked 'WEATHERBY TOMORROWS RIFLE TODAY SOUTH GATE CALIF". Mounted with period Bausch & Lomb 2.5-8X scope in quick change period B&L mounts and bases. CONDITION: Excellent with very slight blue loss at muzzle. Bore is as new. Bolt is properly numbered to action. Stock is excellent with very slight finish wear on left side at action from being displayed. Optics are clear but very slightly yellowed. This is an outstanding early Weatherby custom grade rifle that would be difficult to improve upon
