(1962) Two sets of demi-block barrels, both 28" long, marked "1" and "2" on loops. Barrels are fitted with solid, matted ribs, and makers name and address are on left ejector housings. Barrels are stamped with November 1962 East German nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers and with retailers name, Waffen Frankonia. Coin finished double Kersten sidelock action features automatic safety, hand detachable locks, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and Miller selective trigger with rocking selector switch at front portion. Action and locks are engraved in near full coverage nicely cut large open shaded scroll with some floral highlights on reinforcing bolsters. Steel trigger guard has matching scroll on bow. Well marbled and lightly fiddle figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over Silver type pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. A vacant gold oval is on toe line. Matching three piece forend with Deeley release services both barrel sets. CONDITION: Very fine, with evidence of considerable field use. Barrels retain over 90% of what appears to be original blue. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish with some evidence of cleaning on bottom. Top lever is silvered on thumbpiece. Trigger guard considerably silvered on bow and tang, retaining approximately 30% blue. Stocks have some newly applied finish over old surface, checkering worn and gummed. Bores are excellent. Barrel set "1" action is somewhat loose with forend removed. Ejectors are out of time. Barrel set "2" is nice and tight, but bottom ejector won't trip. Trigger appears to work well. MGM147.
